Walker steel guitar questions

Post by Chris McGinnis »

Took this steel in on trade from a friend of mine.it says walker mfg co on the front apron and walker on the pedal bar.looks to have maybe been put together from parts and pieces it's a 12 string extended e9 with 3 pedals and 2 knees.was supposedly setup by a guy in Nashville around a year ago or so and I have a copedent chart he wrote out.has anybody seen anything like this?next question would be what do you all think it would be worth as is?has a nice set of vintage open back Grover tuners on it. The case is not that great but it is there.any help would be appreciated.i have 4 more steels and am thinking about selling a couple but just don't even know where to start on a asking price on this one.thanks again and if anybody has any info I would greatly appreciate it.chris

I've never heard of the brand, it appears to be a homebrew pull-release guitar with ZB (I think) endplates (all-pull holes with a pull-release changer?
I'm not happy with the way the maker approached the lower return spring issue.
I'd say it's not going to be worth more than about 1100.
It's a pretty cabinet, and I bet it'll have great tone if it has good pickups.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

I've never owned or seen a ZB with those end plates. Maybe some real early Zeebs. But with all those holes, it looks like a similar system. Definitely looks like it was thrown together from a pile of parts from other guitars. I wouldn't give more than maybe $750 for it. I was trying to research this brand when I came across what I believe is a video of this guitar.
