I made my first little recording (not country) with the new Surgical Steel tonight, sounds so much nicer than any amp I've used so far:

Tim: Your recording is of a Jeff Beck song and is not an original, correct?
I couldn't find any credit of it on the web site.

Sounds good, though.

Thanks, ajm. Yes, that's the Jeff Beck song Angel (Footsteps) that he plays slide on his stratocaster. I can't play any fast picking stuff, my blocking is bad, so I have to go with more atmospheric stuff. I just wanted to try and show a little of what the amp can do. I'm loving the way it sounds.

Hello DR.Z here, using my old friend John's account to post, because I love his avatar.....
First thanks Mike for posting your demo.
And thanks Tim for your support.

There are many great amps and guitars out there, and no one is perfect for everyone.
I have been building and designing amps for 30 years, and DR.Z is the only boutique builder that is lab certified to comply with UL standards.
My amps have graced the largest stages in the world for over 3 decades, and used by some of the greatest players, just check my " Patients of DR.Z " section on my website.
All I ask is that if you get a chance check one out, I believe you will be pleasantly surprised.
Thanks, DR.Z

You're welcome, Doc, and thank you for designing and building this amp. Just like all the other Dr. Z amps I've owned in the past, this one is solid as a rock.
I just wish I knew how to play and record better so I could do it justice.
