Seeking info/history on pedal steel
A friend of mine just received this guitar with no information about its origin. Does anybody know who built it? When?

From the old forum. Same type of inquiry from L.A. Wunder. She is still a forum member, I think, though I haven't seen any recent posts from her.
Maybe search her out and contact here for any info she may have found on these.

Don Cathy is the builder, also the steel player who played for Houston TV favorite "Utah Carl". Program was on Sunday mornings, and maybe even 'live' then. I remember him smiling at the camera at lot when he was taking the lead.
I have a 1"dia 10 string stainless steel bar(which alloy?), that is hollowed out to decrease weight. On the end is stamped "D.C. Custom".
Obviously he and many other steel players experimented with custom building guitars - everyone was different and parts did not interchange.
