Topic: history of Sierra steel guitars? |

I'm wondering if anyone with the knowledge has any interest in listing the various Sierra guitars throughout the years, including any innovations or differences in the various models.
Many players don't realize how long Sierra has been around, almost as long as Sho-Bud, or what a highly regarded instrument it is among some of the best, including Buddy Emmons.
I'd sure love to know more about the company and their top-notch steel guitar design.

In the early 90's, Buddy had me pack up 3 Sierras that he had & ship them back to the company.
I know he really liked the sound of the C neck and I believe he is responsible for Sierra going back to keyed tuners because he liked the "standard look" of keys and I think he was used to changing strings with keys.
I had met instrument designer, Ned Steinberger, at 12th & Porter, in Nashville, and visited with him several times in New York and at some point, we talked about Sierra building a "Tapper", a pedal steel with a raised fretboard and second compensated bridge for fretting in tune:
Ned drew up some blueprints, & Don Christensen and Tom Baker made me two guitars.
First, a single neck prototype and then a doubleneck with a standard pedal steel neck (11 string):
Don and Tom were a great team and I will always be thankful to them for making a dream come true.
