I recently purchased this Williams and as much as I love it, I think I'm just a D-10 guy... at least for now.
Built in 1988, this steel is clean and in fine shape, everything in working order, and it plays and sounds GREAT. It's plain to see and hear why these guitars are so highly rated. It's just extremely solid and well built with a full, sweet tone.
It appears that the endplates may have been painted at some point and the formica was also replaced. I believe a finger-switch was also added later (see photo 5) to give the pickup a boost for soloing or whatever. It's a great feature... I wish all my steels had it.
This is a rare opportunity to own a wonderful Williams guitar at a much lower price than what they normally go for. It weighs just under 48 lbs in the case. The case and pouch are in fine shape too and there is an extra bell crank and LKV rod as well. also included is an owner's manual and book one of Jeff Newman's Universal E9/B6 course.
sorry the photos aren't higher resolution, I can send better quality shots if necessary. thanks gang

after doing some research, I was told by Bill Rudolph that the formica is not original, though he did say it looks good.
why it was changed I don't know. it certainly doesn't affect the tone or function of the guitar.
I've edited the original listing to reflect this. sorry for any confusion.
