I use George L's "Nashville Gauges" strings. They have a .013.

I've been using GHS, they also have a .013.

I probably use a .012or .013 whatever comes in a set of S.I.T. strings?

A friend just gave me a set of the new D'Addario NYXL E9th strings to try out. A few more gigs on my existing set and I'll put'em on. I'm interested in the difference between stainless and nickel.

S.I.T. "Buddy Emmons" sets have a .012.

That's what I use but I think I must have got a faulty batch as I sound nothing like Buddy Emmons.

That's funny, Jeff!

Interesting facts:

Paul Franklin, whose recordings helped popularize the F# to G# lever, uses a .013 (according to Jagwire).

Buddy Emmons didn't have that lever (as far as I know), but his S.I.T. signature set has a .012.

I use an .011 since I'm raising it to G*. Seems natural to me.

I use .013 on 24" Scale...and .012 on longer scale.

When I got my Franklin, new in 81, Paul Sr told me to use the "Nashville Gauges", which includes a .013 on the F#.
