Bob,

I'm very sorry to hear of Al Petty's passing. Seems like June was a month of people dying, or almost dying. Strange!

You may want to edit the Title, so it shows his name...instead of just "Gone Home." That way more people will see this post.

Again...sorry to hear this!

...Al Petty

Was saddened to hear about Al's passing. He made an impression on me when I met him at one of the steel guitar conventions. He had his own room where he displayed his home made processor for his steel guitar. He said he always had problems with drummers so he now has his own by demonstrating by playing a fantastic drum solo on his steel. Also, I purchased all his cassettes of him playing all the sounds he had sampled in his processor. This man was very talented and I also got to take in his special seminar on how to tune a guitar by ear. He detuned and retuned all within no time at all. I made notes on his instructions and understood every word he said. Wow what an amazing musician/instructor he was, never will forget him. R.I.P. Al

Royace,
Would you consider posting your notes for the benefit of the steel community?

Thanks,
Jim
