I have a Supro I am trying to resurrect after being stored in a garage for the past 40 years. The cord plug needs to be replaced. Should I try to splice in a new plug or replace the entire cord. The cord goes into the body which can be accessed and needs to be soldered. I guess it makes more sense to replace the entire cord at this point. There's a little yellow wire that goes from the pickup to one of the two nobs (either tone control or volume - which probably contains the on off switch.) It came lose when I was opening it all up and I can't which contact it is supposed to be attached to. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Best is to replace the cord with a 1/4" jack. You can probably get a local luthier to do it for you for a bench charge... 25$ should cover it. Then you can use whatever cord you want!
