Topic: Profex II hum |

I know this has probably been posted here many times but what' another one? How does one get the hum out of the Profex 2. I love the setting and sounds I can get out of it but I cannot stand the hum. Oh and yes, it does sound like 60 hz.

Does it hum with no instrument plugged into the input?
Have you verified the correct power supply. 16 to 16.5 VAC, not a Dc supply? |

If you have in a rack with other equipment I've seen many cases of other equipment causing the "ground loop" hum. Isolating the equipment mounting ears from the rack rails usually fixes the problem. Commercial "Humfrees" are sold for this purpose.
If you are running the Profex II to two amps that is another frequent cause of the ground loop hum. |

I'll check the power supply and unplug my steel and check it out.

It is in a rack with a power conditioner. I never thought about that so I'll pull it and see if there are isolators.
