I really dig that I can be identified by my "handle" and my URL. Yes, I am responsible for the Jeff Au Hoy clips. |

This would (In my opinion) be the definitive example of the Hawaiian Side of the Pedal Guitar, disguised pedal usage, as was the way then.

Could someone with more knowledgeable ears than mine please take a stab at what his likely tunings and copedents are?
When did JAS move to the Fender from a Magnatone?
These Tapas room recording seem to have captured the attention of me and a lot of other folks. |

Thanks Baz...I had a handful of these Tapa Room songs, but not near the number on your tapes. It doesn't get any better than this! |

I know this thread is years old, but I would love to hear his playing. If there is any chance Basil or someone else could re-upload the Tapa Room recordings I would be very grateful.

Those rare recordings are of a select group that deserve a perpetually reactivated link in a sticky. |

Also, the tracks which are in mono (the ones that haven't been phase shifted to pseudo-stereo) are running about a whole step sharp (chimpmunky). Not complaining, just an observation. |

Looks like you never left it !! (the shack I mean)
In actual fact a "normal" CD can't hold more than 700mb about 80 minutes, whereas the Tapa Room files (when converted from mp3 to WAV or AIFF) run for a total of 3 hours 6 minutes..
Try plan 'B'...
Answers to your question as to how to burn a CD of this should be asked in the appropriate section of the Forum, but don't really belong herein.

Erik...well put ! I couldnt agree more...those recordings of Jimmie Rivers and the Cherokees did that for me also...these tapes are brilliant ! Thanks for all of your work posting those Basil ! Just out of curiosity, how many tracks are there in total on the Tapa Room Tapes?
When I downloaded mine I came out with 56 tracks. Did I get them all?

Someone mentioned about making CD's of the Tapa Room Tapes. Here is what I did--I love making CD's, along with the cover photo, title, liner notes, and the song list. And, yes, each CD has 80 minutes--max. time, so it pretty-much came out to 3 equal time CD's--less than 80 minutes, each. I can't thank Basil enough for providing this to us.
