I found this on ebay. Never seen one of these. It looks like a student instrument. Straight legs etc. Can someone tell me about it?

It is indeed an emmons student model. Has a pushpull changer. Has great tone, but can be a pain mechanically if it hasn't been takin' care of. obviously the fretboard is on the body(no neck).

The absolute best sounding steel I ever heard was one exactly like this one.

IMO $500 is not that much for a student model with 3x5.Like Bobby said...one of the best sounding guitars.I am starting to rebuild me one in a couple of weeks.Put on new finish etc etc.

The one I borrowed once and used for several gigs sounded really good...better than several"pro"guitars I've played!
