these special tributes at the 2017 "steelin' the gospel steel guitar showcase" will definitely be worth the trip!
if your a steel guitar player you either do or have owned a steeler's choice seat. Danny "Dano" Rollans will give us a history on the seat that his father Ken Rollans built. the first one for himself, that became a staple in the world of the steel guitar.
Rev.Michael Mcfall will share a tribute to his father, songwriter, the rev. James McFall, and several of the gospel classic's that he is credited with writing.
bring your neighbors and your lawn chairs for the best seat in the house!

we will be able to add one steel player to the "steelin' the gospel steel guitar showcase" on Saturday afternoon. if you have been fretting that you wish you had said something, but, didn't, now is your chance. if you were afraid or embarrassed to speak-up online, just show-up with your gear and be ready to shine. be the first to raise your hand and you can be a star in star city. pedal, non-pedal, console. as long as you play it with a bar and it looks like and sounds like a steel guitar.

cane creek state park in star city, Arkansas is the new home of the "steelin' the gospel steel guitar showcase" each third Saturday in may.
the park management was well pleased with the sounds of steel guitars that filled the atmosphere of the park. all the campers were polled as they were leaving on sunday and the total consensus was to please do this again.
I wish to thank, Terry Sneed from Urbana, Arkansas, Floyd Arbuckle from Cleveland, Mississippi, Gene Simmons from Dierks, Arkansas, Eddie Ray Baker from Greenville, Mississippi, Dan Rollans from East End, Arkansas and Ronnie Neighbors from Hot Springs National Park, Arkansas along with Michael McFall and Seth, and to the band, Phillip Payne, Scottie Salter, Kenny Rivers and Reed Breedlove. what began as a stormy day in the morning became a great day for a steel guitar showcase.
here's to next year, see you at cane creek state park, for the 2018 "steelin' the gospel steel guitar showcase"!

7 days makes one weak! or is it week?
what a difference a week makes! the weather is still unpredictable. though, you can predict that it's gonna rain. somewhere, sometime! and here, if not there.
a lady with the city of star city came to the "steelin' the gospel steel guitar showcase", last Saturday, not knowin' steel guitars from steel magnolia's, but came away convinced to contact me and ask, "what can we do to get these in our new amphitheater?" thus, sometime betwixt now and then, be on the lookout for another steel guitar showcase where you can be the star in star city, Arkansas.
