Have you taken the original version, removed the vocal, and added the lead? Or have you created the backing yourself, using MIDI based on the original arrangement? If the former, how did you separate the vocal from the backing?

Whichever way you did it, it sounds very effective. Well done. Cool

Normally, I just use some homemade backing tracks of my own creation, and then when I hear, or remember some of the old time tunes, I try to get, (or at least try to), get some of the old commercial karaoke background tracks, if they are available. And if I`m lucky, with a great deal of labor intensive editing, I blend what is ever available. Sometime it works, and sometime it does-nt. I just keep trying. That which does work, is what you hear.
