I recently bought a nearly new GFI S-10 Ultra, with pad, that has a 4th pedal just to the left of the A pedal that lowers the 6th string a half step. Mostly, it just goes untouched. I'm just curious about hearing from anyone who has or has used such a setup. Whaddaya think?

What you have is commonly called a 0th ("zeroth") pedal because it's to the left of the 1st pedal. It's not unusual to lower both G# strings to G on this pedal. Joe Wright does this. It's very useful in minor keys and in tunes that use a scale with a flatted 7th tone (generally speaking, rock music).

I have it located to the right of the 3rd pedal, making it the 4th pedal .

This is the PF setup lowering 5 ,6 and 10. Although I currently use it in it's simplest form at some point down the road I will spend more time with it.

I have the PF pedal as my 4th pedal on my D-10 Carter that I bought back in January of this year. I really like it . It opens up a lot of new ideas for playing. My S-12U has the same set up except I have it split on two KL. LKV lowers 5 & 10 to A and RKL lowers the sixth string G# to F#. Thanks!

With the Day set-up it would be on pedal #4, ie.. (Tommy White) but; with the Emmons’ set-up it would be on pedal #0. Raise strs. #1 (1-tone) & #2 (1/2-tone).

My 70's Emmons S10 came from the factory with pedal 4 lowering the fifth string half tone, and 6th string to f#. It also had only two knee levers (right knee; raising & lowering both E's).
