Hey guys if you will goto my site you can download the Tab and listen to the Demo of "Were Going Steady" on Zane Beck's Tuning E9/6 open with no knees or floors. I'll post the .wav file later. You will need Adobe to download the tablature.

Bob,
I had Don Fritche of BMI to fax me the last setup on Zane's guitar before he died. According to his information this is how Zane Beck had his steel tuned. I do have Zane Kings Copedant and you are correct about Zane King's tuning. According to those who I interviewed that were close to him said it wasn't nothing for Zane to Change to try to develop the opt. tuning.
Thanks,

Jerry,
the reason for doing this was to give those who might be interested in looking at Zane's tuning to change their open tuning to match Zane's and then play along with the tab to see if they found value in the tuning for themselves, that way they didn't have to go and change any floors or knees.
You can find out the limitation of any tuning when it's played open. Please understand that this was just a demonstration.
Some good advice Bobby Bowman gave me once, was to learn as much about your tuning open first and find it's limitations then learn the applications of the floors and knees.
I have personally found this advice to be priceless.
