Danny's copedent is backwards (or would it be upside down?) Open A6, AB pedals down E9. I agree with your analysis otherwise, Sir Rettig.Roger Rettig wrote:I'm willing to bet that Danny's copedant is not unusual. His grasp of extended chords and passing phrases is, however.
Danny jokingly invited me to sit in his guitar one night but I already knew. I wonder if others have had that surprise. It was the week of SWSGA and there was a LeGrande on stage for guests.

There are some clues about his setup in this post:Roger Rettig wrote:I'm willing to bet that Danny's copedant is not unusual. His grasp of extended chords and passing phrases is, however.

As chris ivey said, Danny's copedent has always been a little different.
(His playing, too. I enjoyed it; several part inventions.)

Well, I made a monkey of myself there, Bill, didn't I? His set-up is fundamentally different!
But my point remains - what we are hearing is his innate musicality and I still say that all of it is available on a standard E9 guitar. It just takes musical breadth and imagination.
He is a splendid player!
