Rains SD-10 Gary Carpenter $2000 SOLD

Post by Frank Markow »

SOLD

Very clean Rains Gary Carpenter built SD-10. 3 pedals, 5 knees. I believe this guitar was made early 2000. The serial # looks like 002780, not sure how to confirm the build date, Curtis Hogue at Rains may be able to determine this.

Emmons setup. The RKL raises 1 and 2 (does not lower 6 but of course you can add this change). The vertical lowers the 5th. Has been tuned up and given a clean bill of health by Steve Lamb in Fort Worth, stays in tune well, plays smooth. He also added a tap to the pickup, which allows you to split it to a single coil for a lighter sound, small switch on the underside. The PUP is a Bill Lawrence, very full, modern sounding tone.

The case is in good shape, except one hinge needs to be replaced, probably a $3 part from All Parts. I put new fabric on the outside of the case, it looks brand new.

Comes with DF2 cover and bag for legs and rods.

Would prefer to sell to someone in the DFW area, we can meet locally, or will ship, buyer pays shipping.
