People are always posting about looking for replacement parts for their Bakelite Ricks. Here's a parts guitar for sale on E-bay.

Judging from the pickup, it looks like a pre-war model.

Yet from the nameplate it looks post-war. Plus the pickup is missing the chrome bracket thingy that attaches to the body. I'm in need of a 1.5" horseshoe pickup to replace one stripped off my guitar by the prior owner. Is this one worth it without the mounting bracket?

I beg to differ. This looks like a post-WWII instrument to me. First, I'm quite sure it is a 1.25" pickup. An 1.5" pickup fills the body cavity--I just checked mine twice--, this one doesn't, by about 1/4" I'd say. Second, that is definitely a post-WWII nameplate on the headstock.

Note that the loose parts shown in one of the photos have nothing to do with this guitar.

That's my assessment based on the photos..

If the price is right to you the magnet would be good to get if it is the same width and thickness as yours. It would be easy to make a mounting plate from white or black pickgaurd material, making an exact copy would take some "specialized" metal work to do the raised area immediatly surrounding the pickup.
Arent all the 1-1/2" magnets more squared off on the edges or are some a little rounded like the photos appear to be?

The seller just responded to my inquiry. The pickup is 1-1/4".
