When I'm in a bar and a song plays on the jukebox with steel on it, I find myself `air` picking along with it. No barring, just right hand. I can't help myself.
Anyone else?

My four ex Wives said I played the best air steel in Scotland.
Obviousely we did not frequent the same bars.
Best regards

Archie, yeah, me too! It's the bean soup. The right hand is merely a mute.

Don't know if you'd call it "air steel guitar" or not, but my wife wakes me up at night telling me to keep my feet and hands still!! [I don't think she's talking about other things] Don't know what I was playin, but I'm sure I was having fun!!

It's a universal. That way I can play at the bar or sitting at a table.
Here is a picture;

There's a "road story" about Buddy Emmons when he was with Ernest Tubb.
According to the story, Buddy would lay out match sticks for frets on a suitcase and practice licks while traveling. And, according to the story, when he would get to the destination and set up his guitar he could play the lick perfectly the first time.
I guess you could call that air steel guitar. |

In some strange way this reminds me of a mime sentenced to be shot by a firing squad and they had to use silencers |

I don't play a bad 'air' steel, still no good at pick blocking though.

Playing air steel guitar is fun, but sitting on that air pac-a-seat is really hard on the back. |

On our recent Texas tour with the Plummer Family show our drummer, Tex Mex Jimmy Gallager was jammin air steel to Daryl Singletary. He sounded just like Mike Johnson and Sonny Garrish. I couldn't tell the difference.He said in his next life he wants to come back as a steel player. I said so do I. |

Last week they had 3 air guitars on ebay, why would a air steel surprise anyone, well unless your bidding on it and your from Cedar Rapids. |
