David Hartley, Video

Post by John A. Russell »

Hey all

I have, with David Hartley's permission, attempted to tab "Sing Me Back Home" as played by David on "Youtube".
This is not a beginners tab.

I am not saying this is 100% the way David plays it, but my attempt at tabbing it.

I hope that this will bring attention to David's website and to the great tab and backing tracks he has for sale.

I am offering this to anyone who has commented on any of my last tabs on the Forum, who request this one.

This was a monster to do and I want to offer it to those who took the trouble to make comments .

I have made so many new on line Steeler Friends, thanks to Bob's Forum.

Dedicated to the great player, "David Hartley"

Kind Regards

John- I've always loved that old Merle Haggard song "Sing Me Back Home"and was happy to see you had done the hard work to tab it out as well as offer it to us. I remember seeing him perform it MANY moons ago. It is sad that he is now "back home" himself, but leaves us with great songs and memories.

Also, what better player could you team up with than David Hartley? He is just terrific.
I can only hope to one day sound a third as good, and be able to give back like you are doing, John. Thank you again for all you do.

:D Once again John has provided us with an excellent tablature rendition of one of my favorite Merl tunes. I have Davids site marked in my bookmarks and when I just want to sit back and relax and listen to some great steel playing, I click on that bookmark. A special thank you to both you gentlemen for keeping pedal steel alive and well......now to get this tab printed off and in front of my steel.
