MSA Superslide 10-string SOLD Pls close

Post by Michael R Duffey »

MSA Superslide, 10-str with Alumitone pickup.

Bought this new from Reece Anderson in 2011. Excellent condition, it truly has stayed in case and closet most of its life. Includes soft case it was shipped with. Currently tuned to standard C6. I can bring to Dallas March 9 if you prefer.

Will sell for $750 or best offer, with donation to Forum.

string spacing

Post by Dan Campbell »

Nice looking guitar!
1. Can you tell me the spacing between the strings at the bridge and nut (and\or) the total spacing distance from the first string to the last at both locations?
2. I kown it is in C6 but can you specify each string?
3. What advantage do you gain over 8 strings?
4. What size bar do you use?
Thanks- lot of questions I know

Superslide specs

Post by Michael R Duffey »

Dan - reply to your questions:

From a quick measurement, string spacing averages about 11/32 (same as pedal steel). You can check with MSA for precise specs on the Superslide.

~ 2 - 23/32" width at nut
~ 3 -11/32" width at bridge

Scale length about 22 1/2"

Strings right now are, low to high
C F A C E G A C E G

This is standard 10 string C6 tuning on a pedal steel, with the "high G" string. So a great way for a lap steel player to transition to a C6 PSG copedent.

I use a standard 7/8" tone bar. Some lap players might prefer a 3/4" bar.
