It is aluminum with a veneer on the front that looks like it's some kind of wood, but it isn't.

Beautiful Steel. I didn't know Carter made an all aluminum body Steel with veneer. I knew the rear aprons were aluminum though.

The necks are aluminum. Looking from underneath i can see a wood base which would be under the necks. The wood grain that you see from the outside of the steel looks to me to be some sort of shiney veneer, or simulated wood grain. Only the necks themselves are aluminum. The surrounding frame is aluminum.
