3/4 Bar on a budget

Post by Brennan Mangan »

Don't need anything boutique, I just want to try something lighter than my 7/8 for lap steel. Thanks!

Six string lap steel? Dunlop 919, 2 3/4" long, 3/4" dia

Here's the first one I clicked on ebay:

Dig around and you might find one cheaper.

Edited to correct Dunlop bar number. Also note that the vendor I linked to has the incorrect length listed.

Thanks, Bill— playing an 8 string and considering the 918 but figured I'd see what else is out there.

Oops. The 919 is the 2 3/4" long bar and the 918 is 2 15/16", probably better suited for 8 string. I'll have to correct my post above. I made the mistake of believing the vendor info.

Also worth noting that if forum member Michael Hillman does his usual February 2-for-the-price-of-one sale on his powder coated bars, you can get a couple of really nice bars for probably under $50. Try a couple of lengths!
