Great Hurrah

Post by George Piburn »

Thanks Erv - Will - Terry your support is always appreciated.

For those who do not already know,
I've ended my woodworking career and all of my remaining instruments are now for sale as I ease into retirement.

My goal all along is to have my instrument become Collectible while I am Still Alive - now realized.

I call these my "Great Hurrah" they are the culmination of all of my Research and Development over 20 + years and over 500 instruments sold worldwide.
All are made from my Best of the Best Exotic Walnut - KOA - DragonWood - Woods and Hardware - Pickups and so on.

Look Closely at the Fret Boards to see they are inlayed with exotic materials including Turquoise - Silver-Nickel - Abalone - Pearl - EdgeBanding and much more.

All of the S8's are 22.5 scale the Rock N Roll S6's are 23 scale with P90's.

I have several more instruments in my personal collection dating all the way back to when I made them in back yard with MDF templates-I am selling off too, just packed deep in the storage room and no photos yet.

I have supported the Forum since it's beginnings by offering my instruments to members 1st before any other advertising - if you want to get a collectible GeorgeBoard the time is now while they last. I do not plan to be going much of anywhere any time soon, and will personally support my owners for as long as I am able. :)

Wood = AAA Poplar - New Photos of Black Metallic Model

Post by George Piburn »

Thanks for the kind words everyone ,

Will - we used Select AAA Clear Poplar Single piece Solid 8/4 - CNC Routered to shape.

I do all of the sanding painting metal work and set-up personally by hand with my professionally created jigs and fixtures.

I have several more from that run some completed and some need the pickups of your choice installed.

The Pocket is routed for a humbucking - the P90,s I use are in a Humbucker housing with metal shielding.

We have a few of the Blue Burst Completed and 2 of Black Metallic partially completed.

Johnie King makes awesome Steel Lap Guitars

Post by George Piburn »

Many Thanks Johnie and every one.

For those who do not know I retired from Wood Work last year.

We are selling out of all of my personal favorites to ease into full retirement.

My Future with Steel Guitar is now focused on Playing, making some parts for DIY Builders - and hopefully back to teaching.

I gladly pass the Torch so to speak,
to Johnie and so many other artist that are dedicated to building steel guitars made in USA with all of the integrity and passed along experience of the ages.

Right now today is such a great time in the historical time line of steel guitar. So many modern builders taking the art form to it's highest quality of all time.

I reach out to the "Great Spirit" "Aloha Spirit" --- whatever anyone wants to call it, to keep the Artistry alive.

The Forum is such an amazing resource for all things Steel Guitar -- my appreciation is beyond description, Thanks so much.
