New Clip of the Week 01/01/17

Post by Walter Stettner »

Good Morning and Happy New Year!

Let me wish you and yours all the best for 2017!

The first clip of the week is a trip back to the 1950s, a nice little instrumental tune:

Enjoy the music, there's more to come! :D

Kind Regards, Walter

I believe that is Don Helms playing "Canal Street Parade" which he wrote and recorded. HAPPY NEW YEAR WALTER.

Hello Roger. No mistaking the sound of Don's Gibson console.

I agree Bill...what I am not sure of is who is playing harmony with Don...Sammy Pruett or Chet Atkins, who co-wrote the tune with Don? What do you think Bill?

Roger, there are some pretty good guitar licks starting at :47. No disrespect intended toward Sammy, but I don't think he was playing at that level. Also I know that Chet co-wrote a couple of other instrumentals with Don (Corn Crib was one)..and played on the session.

Yes, you all got it right, that is Uncle Don. I don't have confirmed info about the guitar player, but I agree, that may be Chet doing the harmony. :)

Kind Regards, Walter
