Okay...all you Forumite Pickers: How many of you besides C.C. Johnson and myself, ever belonged to the Jerry Byrd Fan Club? How many can recall the name of the Fan Club Journal? How about the name of the Fan Club President? When was it formed? When did it disband? Why did it disband? Just curious....

Hi CCJ! I couldn't remember "WHY?" JB ended the club...it just escapes me. The magazine was "Steel Guitar Echoes". What was the significance of the other names you've listed above? I missed the point, I guess?

I remember Echos now that you bring it up. The other names were people that I know who were members and I was hoping some of them had a computer and would answer. Noel joined during the last yr of the club I believe. Dwight Harris and Al Stotler had member #s below 5 I believe.

Al Stotler is a staunch Jerry Byrd friend and fan. We snail one-another almost on a weekly basis...(wish he'd invest in a computer). I have many tapes of Dwight along with a number of sessions we did together in Ft. Lauderdale. No matter how many times I listen to them, I never cease to marvel at his nahi-nahi tone and fine technic. Dwight, to our loss, sold everything and quit playing. Anyone ever hear from him ? Is Red Moser still with us ? Last I heard, he was quite ill.

I was a member of the club until Uncle Sam sent me to Korea in 1951. When I returned, all I owned in the world was GI clothes in a GI sack. It was a fun time sending out cards to radion stations because I was an avid AM radio follower as well as steel guitar.

Regards, Paul

I remember reading the fan club magazine. I was a kid then. My parents belonged to the club, but who didn't that lived in Lima, Oh.?
