Ron - that's a great looking setup. At first glance, it's one of Loni's Rednecks, but I see a Fender decal. What's the scoop?

I'm curious as well. I tried to expand the photo to read the other words on the headstock but it became too blurry.

I know that Jerry Douglas has had one or more lap Teles or Strats built for him by the Fender Custom Shop.

I also have a American Strat with one of Loni's Lapdancer/Redneck necks...with a Fender logo on it. I had an old torn Fender decal & just pieced it on. The Stratolap works well in any style of music.

Ah, that's what this is - some guy I never heard of (no fault of his) makes replacement necks to make a "squareneck" out of your Tele or Strat!

Loni's pretty well known around the SGF. He can build you a steel or just give you a redneck conversion.

Loni's necks appear to be a good bit thicker than the neck on Ron Funk's guitar. His looks more like a neck blank that was never shaped.

An old Squier, lift the strings and set up the pickups, it works really well. I sometimes use a Bobro, but not all the times. My Rodeodrive pals are very happy with the sound of it.

The decoration is from my daughter, known in the French graffiti world as Nawak.

And as far as the squier is concerned, I was really surprised of the quality of the sound I got from this cheap ol' guitar. It is a good stage instrument and using it lets me save my original 1974 Dobro.

Gents -

'appreciate your favorable comments.

I bought the stained & loaded body, locking tuners, neck connector plate, etc off eBay. Then purchased one of Loni's LapDancer necks and obtained the Fender "Custom" decal off the web somewhere.

A cabinet shop did a great job on staining the neck and applying the decal

I couldn't be happier with the way it all turned out.

Ended up with a Gold Tone LS-6 that I imagine will fit the bill quite well.
