My wife has an old cheapo lap steel that I am rebuilding. I plan on putting in a humbucker. The old pot is unreadable. What value of pot do I want? Linear, audio taper, or ????? _________________ Carter D10 8p/8k, Dekley S10 3p/4k C6 setup,Regal RD40 Dobro, Recording King Professional Dobro, NV400, NV112,Ibanez Gio guitar, Epiphone SG Special (open D slide guitar) . It depends on whether or not you are using it for volume or tone. For volume an audio taper is generally preferred- 250k usually works fine based on the pickup's output, and for tone a 250k linear should be fine. |
