C6 voicings E9 - Phoenix Seminar Friday

Post by Jody Cameron »

n addition to Larry and Steve's fine seminar, I will be doing one also on Friday at the Phoenix show. It will focus primarily on C6 voicings on the E9. We will be using the 9th string a lot, so "use of the 9th string" will also be covered.

Different ways of thinking about the tuning. Hope to see y'all there!

Jody can find more C6 on E9 than anyone I know! For those of us who love single neck guitars, it is amazing how many C6 sounds that can be found. When playing all types of country music, including Texas Swing, Jody's courses are the way to learn it and play it on the "Kroger" neck. Go visit with him! He's a great player, but a better guy. Proud to be his friend. :D

I wasn’t aware of Jody’s CD, Wally maybe you could tell me where to get it?...
I did a tread a while back on C6th voicing’s on E9th,
but, not being strong on theory have little idea of what they’re called, but yes the 9th
string is used a lot... wish I was going to be in Phoenix, but will be in Dallas... maybe
Jody will be there.

Here’s a few seconds of that thread I mentioned at the beginning... my little attempt
at C6th voicing on E9th

Thanks Wally and all you guys for the nice feedback. I've been expanding the C6 voicings on E9 series of DVD courses. This is what I have:

C6 Voicings on E9 Vol. 1: Song "Heart of A Clown", DVD talk instruction, no tab.

C6 Voicings on E9 Vol. 2: Song "Take These Chains" DVD talk instruction, no tab.

C6 Voicings on E9 Vol. 3: Song "All the Things You Are", DVD talk instruction with tab booklet included, plus tabbed solo section.

C6 Voicings on E9 Vol. 4: Song "Nightlife", DVD talk instruction with tab booklet included, plus tabbed solo section. (just finished this one)

I also have a book titled "Using the 9th String" that I just finished, which I intend to base the Phoenix seminar around.

If you decide to take the course in Phoenix, you will receive a 50% discount ($20ea)on any additional courses you buy from me, plus the "Using the 9th String" book is included free with the course.

I'm also offering all of the courses for $35 (show special) if you buy from me in Phoenix, but don't attend the seminar.

If you wish to buy direct from me, all courses are $40 each.

I started all this to try and fill a void for those who don't have a C6 neck, but in developing these courses, I've discovered a ton of really cool stuff to play on E9 that is different and fresh. It's been a lot of fun doing these courses, and I have plenty of ideas for more!

Thanks again to all....see you in Phoenix or Dallas.

I'm not sure of the class hours, but I think it will be Friday afternoon.

The cost will be $35/person. $5 of which will be donated back to the SWSGA.

I think all the details will be posted on the SWSGA website, but I will post here as well when I know.

Thanks Larry, and ditto right back to you. If you want a "shot in the arm" of concentrated instruction/discussion on pedal steel, one should consider Larry and Steve's class as well. Can't go wrong at these prices! :D
