Welcome to Canada Susan! Toronto seems a bit far away for me but I'll pass this on to friends there. |

Bob, I guess that is a little bit of a drive from Edmonton . . . I'll be in Vancouver in March, but I know that is a distance too.
Jim and Andrew, I look forward to meeting you too. I don't yet have the starting times for Toronto and Montreal, though I imagine they'll start around 8 or 9. The show in Hamilton starts at 9, and Kitchener starts at 8:30. _________________ www.susanalcorn.net

If Montreal wasn't a 16 hour drive I would be there front and center. |

Great show by Susan Alcorn to a full house in Montreal tonight.
Susan got a beautiful tone from her MSA "The Universal," formerly owned the great Maurice Anderson himself. She played a beautiful blend of avant-garde and traditional music rich in melody, surprising harmonies and overflowing with creative new approaches to playing pedal steel.
Susan's warm rapport with the audience made it easy to connect with her and her music. She spoke some French, too--something much appreciated here.
Bravo, Susan Alcorn! |

Thank you, Andrew. It was a real to meet you, and an honor to talk with someone who had worked under Shot Jackson at the old Sho-Bud factory. Thanks also for the information about old Sho-Buds and the rack and barrels!
The Canadian tour was for me, an incredible experience - the best audiences anywhere; meeting inventive, and compelling world-class musicians in every city, and meeting steel guitar players at every show (something that is, for me, a rarity in the US). Also, in Montreal there was no shortage of people who came up, were familiar with, and wanted to discuss the music of Olivier Messiaen, a personal idol of mine. From what I understand, Messiaen had for a time lived in Quebec and had as students many Quebecois. Such a fascinating city and such a fascinating country. I hope to return some day. _________________ www.susanalcorn.net
