I belong to another forum , and there's a guy looking for pedal steel samples...By Samples , I mean is there a CD or a DVD out there that has pedal steel lick's, or riff's, including single string samples , that can be used in a sample program ?
Or maybe .WAV files of single string or chording or anything pedal steel ?...Thanks to all .....Jim

A guy / company asked me to do just that a few years ago. I refused. There may be something out there but, to my mind, it's just gonna rob some fellow steel player of some session work.

IMO Larry is 100% right about this.I just checked out the website above.Allthough it looks nice it is not something I would buy.It just makes you think that you are a great player.Everybody with a little computer knowledge can make a song this way.
I can understand that somebody would like to make a little money by building such a program.
But like Larry I never would do it either.

There's a rather sophisticated program called SmartSounds. It comes with a number of "source" CD's. The package is used to create "rights safe" background music for video production. You tell the program the total elapsed time, select a theme, and it will make a customized tune to fit (according to theme i.e. techno, rock, relaxing, etc). The "country" theme is interesting, the first time, but the steel they used gets real repetitive real fast.
