Does anyone raise or lower anything with their E to F change? I'm specifically thinking about the 7th string use.

Can you think of a way to play the 7th string along with your 8th string raise? Could you use it to raise or lower the 7th string in conjuction with other knee/pedal uses?

I sometimes raise the 7th string to G or G# while having the 8th string raised to F but this is done by a lever on the opposite knee. Having the 7th string raise along w the E's to F would ruin to many combinations playing melodic lines between strings 8 7 6 or 6 7 8 and would not be a good idea IMO.

The 7th string is a scale tone in the A+F position of the I and V chords. For the IV chord, you have to raise it half a step to get a scale tone.

A+F in the key of C:
C chord at 11th fret, 7th string is an F note.
F chord at 4th fret, 7th string is a Bb note.
G chord at 6th fret, 7th string is a C note.

The "no change on string 7" option wins 2 to 1 in my book. The IV chord is the reason that F# to G is usually on the other knee. Think in scales.
