Waaaaay cool !!!

Now your steel guitar is gonna look better than your Harley.

And with a guitar that looks that good, you can tune it any way you want to.

Well, since I was old enough to pace my crib, I haven't had an ounce of patience in my whole body.

To get it back here, I'd tune the thirds TWENTY cents flat.

This period has not been as bad as I thought as I've been able to see some of the fine pieces Duane Jeff and AJ have turned out.

Here's a glimpse inside my impatient mind:

It looks like it'll be done a ways before my 13 Feb trip. I'm thinking maybe I can have it express freighted out here, play it for a gig on the 11-12Feb, fly back on my flight with it, and pretend like I'm just picking it up, and fly back with it to play the 18-19.

Just kidding, but I'm sure ready for it. And a trip to SGN, visiting with friends that have moved there over the years, and the Station Inn on Monday nite.

The ProIII can get a retread now at my own leisure.

Eric, your gonna freak when you get this guitar. Its like getting a dragster out of custom auto shop. This guitar is gonna talk to you when you play it. These Marrs Sho-Buds have mega tone. If I wasn't playing ZB's I'd still be playing one of these. I am firmly convinced that custom shop steels are the way to go. It doesn't get any better than the Marrs Custom Shop. Steel guitar Nirvana.

Hey Kevin, what about a ZB redone with Marrs mechanics? (don't think I haven't thought about it).

Very nice, Eric! I'm proud for you. My Sho~Bud is in great shape, but I'd still love to be able to send it to Duane & Company to get the new mechanics and change it to a natural blonde...oh well, maybe one day!

I wish you much success and happiness with your "new" Bud!

I'm just now realising how long it IS until Valentines' Day.

The Moon will still be in Taurus, and Venus/Neptune Trine my own Mars perfectly.

Other aspects show I should go armed, but I'll take my chances...

The pickups are indeed whitetopped, as Jerry Wallace offers it as an option. I had him put the last three wound string magnets on each pickup out 1/8' slightly to level at the 10th strings. That's something I've been thinking about for a while. I'd like to find some white grover keys, but will probably file out some white gotoh keys as they're a tiny bit smaller inside.

It's slightly lighter than pictured, and I have it that it's one of the prettiest ones they've done. It's not birdseye, but has an interesting grain pattern.

I'll be posting pictures galore, and of my trip in general.

First time I've ever rented a car. Thrifty can kiss that Lincoln goodbye...

I'm glad I got it in when I did, though at the time I didn't have the money. Just faith that it would work out.

It looks like it will.

Russ. Thanks for the appraisal.

Time for the ProIII to get a rest and facelift.

I think I'll flatten my thirds till I get it out of Tennessee..
