So I have this really great MSA Classic D12. I have no idea how old it is though. Anyone know how I would check something like that?

Those came out around 1974 and were replaced by the lacquered finished Super Sustains by 1978 as far as I remember.

Post the serial number, stamped in the changer end endplate. Mitchell and Kyle have the records. They can tell you completion date and Initial purchaser.

While we're on the subject, I wouldn't mind having some info on my MSA Classic S10. It looks similar to the one above, but has the Super Sustain Pickups. Serial Number is: 1C4941

I'd say it was made early in 1975, probably February. Alien

Would it be possible to get the birthdate info on my Classic D10? I'm the 4th owner and we all know each other. I would like to write a short history on the guitar and leave a copy in the case.

Serial Number is 2C5348

Thanks

I have one just like it, Judson. Bought it around 1976, in Maryland. Same finish, a Classic, a D 12 . . which I added pedals to! Yes, I was younger, stronger, and foolish-er!

Dragged it around for years, even overseas on 3 DOD tours.

Then I ordered a Carter SD 12!
