Waylon and Ralph Mooney 1974 Laramie Wyoming

Post by Bill Dobkins »

This photo is from the Waylon Jennings Concert in Laramie Wyoming in 1976. Guy Clark was the warm up band. It was the first time I met Ralph although we had some mutual friends that we visited about. BTW i wasn't sure where to post this.

Hi Bill -

Great photo - makes me wish I had taken more pictures back in the day. Ralph was still playing that green Sho-Bud when I saw Waylon (and the Crickets) on Broadway in NYC in the late '70's.

BTW I would have put this in Steel Players.

VERY cool pictures. From a time gone by.

Are those a couple of Fender Super Sixes? That'll wake someone up.

Mike, I think that is one of the amps Waylon had made. They were essentially a Silver Face Twin-Reverb chassis in a cabinet that had 8 D 110F JBL's. Waylon had two of those built for stage use. a friend of mine here in Cincinnati, Dallas Moore, bought one of them at Waylon's estate auction.
