ASGA Steel Jam in Western PA, 16 OCT 2016

Post by stevepo »

The Allegheny Steel Guitar Assn. is sponsoring a Steel Jam on Sunday 16 October 2016 at the Stanley Snyder VFW, Post #7465, 1470 Brent Road, Volant, PA 16156. The venue is just a few miles from the "Grove City Premium Outlets" Exit on I-79. All regional players and guests are invited to the event, starting at 1:00 pm and continuing throughout the afternoon. The Jam format will remain like always; steel is the only lead, staff band and singer support for your favorite tunes, and guest attendance is encouraged. Please tell other pickers to come. Hope to see you there.

ASGA Jam Timing

Jeff,

We have the VFW reserved for the whole day and have planned to begin at 1:00pm and play until about 6:00pm. It all depends on the turn out and could go longer.

Steven,

I-79 runs North and South in Western Pennsylvania. From Columbus, the southern connection would be I-70 East to I-79 North near Pittsburgh, Pa. Follow I-79 N to the Grove City Exit and follow Rt 208 West .5 mile then turn South on Veterans Road 2.3 miles to Brent Road. Turn right on Brent Road .1 mile, the VFW will be on your left. Anyone in the area can help if you have trouble.

I look forward to your visit.

As long as I've been waiting for you to come home. I will be there, due to the back surgery, I won't have my steel, but I will be present and accounted for SIR. Just a little joke. I will be there, and I would really like to hear Tommy Allison play. I will be looking forward to it Tommy. Please don't let me down.

Sorry to let you down Jim but, I'm in West Tawakoni Texas right now and will be till the first week of November. This is probably a blessing in disguise. You'd likely be more disappointed if you actually got to hear me.

Jam Directions

Post by stevepo »

Hello Everyone,

A word of caution for our neighbors arriving from the West to attend the ASGA Jam this coming Sunday. Please use I-79 from I-80 or I-70 and follow the route to the VFW that I recommended in my October 7th post. Mapquest suggests the use of Route 19 and back roads that may be confusing. If in doubt call either me or Dougie for assistance: 814-229-3584 or 214-701-6443.

Best Regards,

Steve

Just my two cents. Yes it was a wonderful turn out. Steve you done an excellent job, as usual. Thanks a million. It was great to see some of the old friends and listen to how much they have developed over the years, and to see some of the new ones coming up. The one new that really impressed me, was a young man from Washington, pa, Jason Dunkle. They were all so good, and I thank each of you. Steve thank you so much for your endless effort. A job well done.
