An absolute gem to be associated with. How he loved those Emmons push-pulls. Played with such feeling and his tone was perfection.

Pee Wee

Post by Ronnie Miller »

So sorry to get this news on Sunday from Fessy. I met Pee Wee in 93 @ the Opry, and every time after that we would always talk, and visit.
I know he had been absent @ the Opry for a while and Tommy said he was sick, I really have missed those visits.
I sure Tater is shattered... Ronnie

I remember him playing that crazy pinball machine at Demon's Den. Emmons sat down to his guitar, and the pedals of the c6 was not it tune, Emmons just played without pedals.

I just bought an old Peavey Session 400 amp, to have something around the house...cover has "Rogers" printed on it...after I got home I took the cover off and there was a name on the back of the amp "Pee Wee Rogers" ... lol ... who would think... amp has a loud hum, and makes a loud squealing noise when it gets turned off ... in hope to see if there is Pee Wee's tone, or any of his licks still in the amp, I am going to have it completely serviced, and tuned up to prefect condition...it belonged to a great player, it was played on the Opry, and all over the world, it has to be good enough for me :D

If they have a good rep, I'd go with them. What is the state of Peavey "post Undercover Boss?"

So Sorry to hear about Pee Wee's passing. I used to look forward to seeing him backstage at the Opry whenever Little Jimmy Dickens was on. My condolences go out to his entire family.

I have the extreme honor of owning the black Emmons D-10 that George "Pee Wee" Rogers played on this video with Little Jimmy Dickens. His family had originally posted two of his guitars along with other equipment here on the forum. The thread had no picture and quickly sank to the bottom. Mean while a Gary Robers from the Nashville area ended up buying the estate guitars. Shortly after I posted a ad in wanted to buy and amoung lots of replies , Gary offered this guitar to me. Running down the history of the guitar, it was originally owned by Mr. Rick Price, and eventually was sold and somehow made it back the Emmons Company, Pee Wee aquired from Ron Sr. after he had most of his equipment and guitar at the time stolen. This guitar spent lots of time on the Opry stage and is in great condition. Having never met Pee Wee I can guess how he came up with his nick name, the guitar was lowered at least one inch, I could hardly sit at the guitar, Billy Knowles did the work and gave it a clean bill of health.
Superb sounding guitar. RIP Pee Wee Rogers
