how are your string rollers gauged? v bottom ? radius? ect.

just curious, many ways to grind a tool,radius are suppose to be conture the string size. are yours checked with a comparator,or just guessed at??a word of thought!!!

The rollers on my old Marrs and Emmons are "V" shaped.
The rollers on my Mullen are "U" shaped.
None of them are gauged.

Farris there is no need to grind tools or use a comparator to machine "V" or "Radius" grooves in gauged nut rollers with CNC machines. I machine complete guitars and never measure a part anymore. It holds .0004" of an inch. Dave

David,thats cool man,i'm still back in old days with Brown-Sharp Automatics. They do a fine job,but nothing to compare the C&C mach.of today.amazing how they even adjust there selves for tool wear ect.Thank you for the response David. farris
