Pictures fit for your cornfield . LOL . One of the finest steel players that i have ever played beside . Sonny Curtis . Should have been in the Steel Guitar Hall Of Fame many years ago . Why he isn't is beyond me . Played for the top country stars . Traveled the world with the stars . Played in every state of the union . Owned two steel guitar shops . Recorded many albums . What more does it take to be considered to be inducted ??? Love you buddy . Gary .

I have known Sonny Curtis over 45+ years. I agree he should have been in the HOF long, long ago. This guy is a wealth of knowledge and history. He is a gentlemens, gentlemen. One of the finest players ever. He was one of the very first professional players to begin to endorse Clark Custom Steel Guitars. I met Sonny and shared with him about the Clark Guitars, he was interested and the rest is history. He also had one of the very first Emmons push/pulls, number 3, I think. He also has history with Sho-Bud guitars many are not aware of. I am honored to have his friendship.

George Jones w/ Sonny Curtis: stl gtr "Midnight Special." (3/16/73) Tammy is on the show and is singing harmony here. This performance is perfect. There are no flaws:

When I was a kid I bought my first new Telecaster from Sonny. I still have it and the sales receipt.

I bought my first Sho-Bud pak-a-seat
and Sho-Bud volume pedals from Sonny,
Also my original old Bill Lawrence
cords that I still use today. I also
bought the Session 500
that Peavey sent him. He never like it
and I begged him out of it. I still have it.
Then about two years ago he sold me a new old stock
Sho-Bud volume pedal that clamps to the pedal bar.
It was in the original box too.
I agree with Gary Preston, he should be in the
Hall Of Fame....

He's been at it for I guess at least 60 years.

Not exactly sure when this was taken.

Sonny Curtis got THE best tone out of an Emmons guitar that I ever heard playing through his Randall Steelman. Amazing Emmons tone. Just a great classic steel player and a heck of a nice guy. Why he wasn't put into the SGHOF many years ago is beyond me. One of my top favorite players.

Sonny is my friend and one of my very favorite people who plays the steel guitar. If I were going to put on a steel show Sonny would be the first star player I would try to get to come. He most definitely should be in the Hall Of Fame. I must admit his pedals down E and pedals up A setup on E9th is very hard to get to work properly. I sure miss getting to see Sonny since the Indianapolis Gospel show closed down. We had some great times there with Sonny and his wife.
