Are you kidding Richard? This is a joke, right?
The pix in the original listing seem to show everything except the views you posted here.
Hey, I gotta see this for myself the next time we get together, if you still have it.
Just curious..., apparently you're not happy with it, so did you try to get your money back?

Pedalmaster
I will keep this as short as possible. Please understand that I gave this man every opportunity to make this situation right. I have plenty of witnesses that know the offers I made this man to make this all right. He is flat out lying here and defaming my character and my integrity. I've never had another problem with anyone on this forum. He is not mentioning that he was aware of the scratches before he got the guitar. The guitar was set up for ext e9. Those extra rods were sent to me when I bought the guitar. I didn't need them so I threw them in the box. He could have just thrown them away. I sent him tons of emails and only heard back from about 75% of them. I called him numerous times and never heard back. He said it's because he doesn't hear well. He talked to me on the phone before he bought the guitar from me. I offered to have it fixed up to his exact expectations and have it converted to a u12 as he wanted it. I was going above and beyond to make him happy. He declined. What happenend was when he got the guitar, he decided he wanted another guitar and then bought it and was stuck with two guitars. He therefore never wanted to accept any offer or agreement I tried to come to. I was more than fair with this man and he simply is lying here. I've learned one hard lesson here and that is, every item I sell anything from now on I will guarantee the item and give the buyer atleast 3 days to try it out and make sure it's everything they expected. If not I will give them full money back with no questions asked. I'm sorry this situation had to come to this.

Character.
Please also feel free to ask famous professionals like Gary Rittenberry, Tommy dodd, Mark van Allen, John mcclung, and many others about my integrity and character. I would never try and cheat or scam someone with anything. That kind of action doesn't even register in me as a person.

Yes
Yes he did because it is a great guitar. John is very particular with his copedant. Anyone on here that knows the professionals knows that John is one of the most particular guys on here. It was going to cost him too much money to shift everything down so he could get another pedal machine drilled in there right next to the left leg. The dimensions didn't work and that's the only reason he didn't buy it. This guitar in the hands of anyone with knowledge would know how great of a guitar it is. He bought two guitars and got stuck. It's as simple as that. I tried every way to make it right and nothing was acceptable for him. That's what was so fishy. He was trying to flip it all on me because he didn't want to keep both guitars. I offered to fix it all up to his standards. He was trying to be very slimy and unfair.

Re: Pedalmaster
To be fair, I don't see any lies or defamation in Tasso's for sale ad. Unless it's been edited, I only see photos of flaws and damage on a guitar he bought on the forum. Tasso appears to be selling it "as is." If I'd sold this guitar to him, I'd ask him to return it for a refund, rather than further damage my reputation on this forum. Although, he made it clear when he pulled the trigger, he didn't name anyone. He only confirmed after someone else posted the original for sale ad.Scott McRee wrote:He is flat out lying here and defaming my character and my integrity.

The guitar is this add seems like a different guitar from a condition standpoint. The photos of the guitar in the original add show a guitar with reasonably nice aluminum, still mostly polished, and the instrument appears to be clean and well cared for, outside of the few scratches and dings that are visible.
The photos in this add show oxidized aluminum with no luster left, and the guitar appears to be filthy, as does the case. All kinds of crude in the changer etc.
Something doesn't seem right to me. Hopefully this will get sorted out without any further mudslinging for everyone's sake.

Originally advertised at $2200 or best offer. It's a well-made instrument, typical of Pedalmaster.
If your serious about selling it, Richard, you should show some pictures of the whole guitar, not just its little flaws. Most used guitars have a few dings and scratches. If I was in the market for a 12-string, this would be a contender.
Here are a couple of pics from the original post.

Well, this is the first time I've been embroiled in a Forum drama! How exciting!
I don't really know why Richard is offering this Pedalmaster for sale but showing off all the things he considers negative. His post here isn't asking for remediation, which Scott offered weeks ago. Blowing off steam on the forum does no one any good, except providing fodder for Forum Drama Queens.
I also don't understand why Forum members would jump in and cast aspersions on both the seller, Scott McRee, and myself. You don't know Scott or me, you've never done business with either of us, so your uninformed opinions have little value. Scott and I both respect other steelers and in business want buyers to be happy.
First I'd like to repost my testimony about the guitar, which I still stand behind. This is one of the best sounding and playing guitars I've ever touched. Read through the list of attributes I stated which make it so great: I can't think of one modern brand that has all this going for it. If you play universal or extended E9, and are satisfied with a 7 pedal, 5 knee lever guitar, THIS is about as good as it gets! To see my photos of the guitar right before I shipped it back to Scott, go here:

------------------------------
I'm the "steel player of 42 years" Scott mentioned.
This steel guitar is a true gem. If I could have moved all the pedals to the left a couple of inches for ideal positioning of a zero pedal, and easily added 2 staggered knee levers, I would have bought it, but that was going to involve a lot of re-engineering with custom machined parts, and it was more project than I can take on right now.
Chances are your copedent needs aren't as extravagant as mine; if so, this guitar will suit you fine.
I had it for a couple of weeks and really got to know it, and I was in constant touch with its maker, Roy Thomas in Louisiana. Here are more things that make this a special guitar:
• It's a solid aluminum frame (similar to MCI's and EMCI's) with a die-board top. Die board is much harder than any other wood and far more expensive, Roy tells me, so the body has amazing stability, and almost no cabinet drop anywhere. GFI and Pedalmaster were the only builders willing to spend the money to use die-board. Gene Fields and Roy Thomas were partners for 12 years, so there are very smart people behind this wonderful but often overlooked brand.
• It's a 25-inch scale neck, and sustains much longer than either my Carter SD-10 or Mullen pre-RP D-12. Beautiful high end. Perfect strong harmonics.
• Gauged roller nut rollers.
• Dual mono output jacks, one for your amp, one for a tuner, or for dual mono signal chains, (wet-dry, etc.).
• With that Danny Shields custom humbucker pickup with a 3-way tap switch (full tone-brighter-brighter still) and dual adjustable pole pieces, the tone and string volume can be exactly how you want it. Easy to get a bright, Bakersfield-style tone on this baby.
• The 13th changer finger provides for 5 half-stops on any pedal or knee lever you want, without add-on mechanical devices. My Carter has this feature, and I love it! Almost eliminates the need for splits using screws or rods.
• Every part of it is heavy duty, not a shortcut or flimsy part anywhere, yet the guitar alone weighs just 40 lbs. (65 in its case).
• Mechanically it's flawless and pedal and lever action is very easy, but not TOO easy. Just right, I'd say. It was built in 1995, so it's not even that old.
• It's named "Old Maude". Builder Roy Thomas tells the charming story behind the name.
There is one very minor issue: the right rear leg's tightening collar isn't holding perfectly solid, there's no full-stop when you tighten the collar. A couple of minor interior parts for the leg will remedy that.
This is a lot of guitar and wonderfulness for the price being asked. Highly recommended!! I was very reluctant to pass on it, and may regret that decision eventually.
----------------
Note my calling out a minor problem I did find on the leg collar? Except for the slight bend in the changer bracing fin, which I didn't happen to notice and it certainly had no effect on playability, and the gouges across the keyhead front endplate, which ARE nasty but just cosmetic, caused by a lack of wall bracing in the case interior when shipped to me, there are no problems with this Pedal Master. LEARN A LESSON FROM THIS EVERYONE: ALWAYS brace the walls between the body and the legs & rods, and the body and volume pedal compartment, with made-to-fit wood blocks to prevent the body crashing through and causing damage.
Here's the kind of guy Scott McRee is. He agreed to send me this Pedalmaster to try out for a couple of weeks, and if I didnt't want it, I just had to ship it back to him and he'd refund my payment. He's that kind of decent and more-than-fair business person.
I know he also reached out to Richard, offering to do everything to the guitar to make him happy with it. The list of things Richard posted here in this post were his concerns, but why he didn't take Scott up on his offer to make things right, I don't know.
Last note: Richard's photos are extreme closeups, hard not to notice the dust, but that's easy to clean up. This older guitar (built in 1995) is otherwise in great shape, and all the undercarriage parts are solid and thicker than on any other brand of steel I've seen. The action is smooth and light.
Someone make Richard an offer, he doesn't appreciate what he has, but you'll be getting an amazing 12-string SD-12!

A message from Steve Black
I own a pedalmaster guitar built by Roy a Thomas and his guitars are well made and built to last, setups are easy to change if done right, I think this guitar was damaged by the shipping company, but could be repaired if done right.

Can you be somewhat of a man here? No one wants to hear you cry because I told you if you keep defaming my character it would escalate to court. I am done with this situation. I have done everything I can to make this right. I am not refunding you at this point because I know what you're doing. You're flipping this on me because you bought another guitar and you're stuck with 2 guitars. I offered to fix any issue you had with it at my expense and told you I would not send it back until you were 100% satisfied. I told you I would send you pictures to make sure it was up to your expectations. You declined. That's as fair as I can be. All used guitars have little nick nack things wrong with them. This guitar is 25 years old. I hope this thread gets closed as I have been dealing with this man for over 6 months. He has been trouble from the beginning.
Per Mr.McClung, I am someone who has had dealings with both John and Scott. John as a teacher and Scott in a transaction.
I can tell you that Scott's character in dealing with me makes it very difficult for me to believe that he did not try everything he could to make this right. Scott is the kind of guy that wakes up wanting to make sure not only that everything was fair, but even to the point of giving you the bigger half.
I would not hesitate to buy or sell anything to/from Scott, and would not hesitate to recommend John as a great teacher.
Not trying to cast dispersion on anyone, just relating my personal experience.

Since this is more of a rant than an ad, I've closed it.
