Vegas 400 Line Output Question?

Post by Mark Kuban »

Does anyone know if you use the line output on the Vegas 400 to plug into a PA, does it disable the output to the speaker? Wanting to use the amp to play in church, but the sound guys will not want anything coming out of the amp speaker if possible. Thanks.

Using the line out on your amplifier does not mute the output of the speaker.

To silence the power amp stage, make up a shorting plug (¼" plug, no cable, just short tip to sleeve) and insert it into the power amp input jack. The power amp will see a zero input, but the preamp is doing its thing.
2 pedal steels, a lapStrat, and an 8-string Dobro (and 3 ukes)
More amps than guitars, and not many effects

I think you can just turn the post gain all the way down as well. A little bit might bleed through. You might try it that way first if you need it silent.
