So I finally got a bunch of bell cranks and rods.

My c6 neck has the standard Newman changes with the RKR dropping the high C to B.

I added another change dropping the middle C to B. (I mis-read the copedant chart in the Emmons book and meant to add the C to C# change, but I figure this isn't going to hurt to have that change in 2 octaves).

I'm going to add the C to C# on my RKL next.

I still have a bunch of rods and cranks. Any other changes I should add?

You're somewhat unclear above, but having both C strings lowered to B on RKR will definitely be an incorrect change if you want to retain the most common way of making a Maj7 chord in the C position. And you lose the 13th chord with p.5, a #11 chord with p.6, and a dom. 9th chord with p.8.

Raise both s.3 and s.7 a 1/2 tone (C-C#) with RKL. Your third lever should raise s.4 a 1/2 tone (A-A#), doing so to s.8 is optional. A fourth lever should lower s.4 a 1/2 tone (A-G#), and again, lowering s.8 is also optional.

I'm with Herb on this. Not lowering the middle C is very important. Even on my 8-string D6th, which I use to play a lot of E9th-ish stuff, I use a bar slant for that lower because major 7th chord is so much more important.

As for "what to add", A to Bb is a very useful lever. I raise both A's, but a lot of people just raise the 4th string.

I'm with Herb on this too - and another lever I find very useful is lowering 2nd E to Eb and raising 6th E to F -- pedal 6 in reverse in fact.

Thanks for the insight!

I had a copy of Reese andersons c6 book, and was using that to add to my Copedant, but I sold the book and Beverly wrote down what the changes were.

I remember him having LKL change two strings, LKR changed one.

There was one change to add to RKL (assuming this is the C to C# change)
And one on the RKR.

Anyone maybe have that chart?

FWIW, I personally don't raise or lower s.8 with the knee levers, but I have bellcranks/rods on those crossbars just in case I want to add those changes momentarily.

I lower 4 to Ab and 8 to G on RKL, and raise 4 and 8 to Bb on LKV.
To eliminate double-footing, my LKR has P5.

I really like that change, lowering middle C .036" with the same lever that lowers the highest C string. It's easy to try it out; if you don't like it you can undo it with a twist of the tuning nut.
