Are there many PSG players that play standing up. The only ones I've seen are Junior Brown (a new endeavor for him) and I think I've seen some video of Billy Mize playing standing up.

Steve Howe of Yes played his Sho-Bud D10 standing back in the mid 70's...though he only used it for a couple songs of their set.

My old D10 (mid 60s?) has legs that extend to standing height. Question is, did people still expect to use the pedals? You would need a second set of pedal rods, and I'm not even sure they would fit in the case! So maybe extension pieces? Anyone know?

Adrien Adkisson on the pedal steel, standing...not a d10 but d8-9 permanent. This guy has "ZERO" problems playing, standing up and mashing pedals!?

I play an 8-string Fender standing up. I use a 6th tuning, with standard A and B pedals, and a Mooney C pedal. I used threaded rod stock and coupler nuts to extend the rods. The biggest impact on my playing has been that I can't use the volume pedal and guitar pedals at the same time. I end up playing non-pedal on parts where I want to use a volume pedal, which is fine. I would say it has even focused my playing a bit, as I really need to think out where the volume pedal is coming in.

Overall, I really enjoy playing while standing. I'm more comfortable, and it gives me a sense of control and energy in my playing that helps with all the crazy nonsense I do.

Incidentally, my band recently opened for Junior Brown, although he was playing the Guit-Steel, no standing pedal steel. He told our guitarist (who plays a double-neck Danelectro) that he should "keep playing that big guitar...people like that kind of thing."

Robert Randolph sometimes plays a psg standing. I could not find a video of a particular Crossroads Guitar Festival where he does, but here is another example which will probably raise some eyebrows and maybe ire of purists. He does not use the pedals much, especially here, but it is clear (to me) he is no stranger to playing standing up.

I think Junior's PS has knee levers coming horizontally out the back of the guitar

I suppose you would call them 'hip levers'
