Looks like it's an attempt to build a pedal steel from scratch that was abandoned before it was finished.

It,s Heinz 57. half lap half steel. it,s not worth what the s/h would cost you. guess it might make for good firewood if you did,nt have anything better to burn. James

I know his store. He is located in Chamblee Ga. on Buford Highway (known as Chambodia now due to its large Asian populous, no ethnic slurs intended). The other thing he is known for is his 12 year in a row around Christmas "Going out of business Sell".
Looks like a collection of different parts.
Good luck.

Looks like to me it's a foot long piece of toasted garlic bread with the image of a steel guitar on it. It should fetch a price of over 6 dollars....if anyones into that sort of thing.

I'm just sorry the seller doesn't ship to Mexico!

Really though, some of the best-sounding guitars I've ever had were relative pieces of crap and some of the most blah-sounding were the most exotic and expensive... don't know if that would ever be the case with a steel. I'd give him $25 for it just for laughs if it wouldn't cost $150 to ship it here.

I also really hate that kind of title this guy and many others use on Ebay; "Pedal Steel Lapsteel Gibson Fender etc. etc."

I've seen some bad steels before...and that is one. Which way is it going? Maybe this 7 string beauty really would make a better cheese slicer. At least someone had the decency to cut the wire to the pickup.

Every one says there is not right way or no wrong way --- the guy that tried to build that thing just had a different way of looking at things. Maybe backwards, upside, down or just way different.

Those pictures remind me about the story of Tom Morrell asking Bobby Koefer why he played a 10 string steel with 9 strings on it.
Bobby replied:
"'Cause 8 strings weren't enough".
