About a month ago I pulled the trigger on a new Carter SD-10 in Green Birdseye Mica (can you tell I'm a big Lloyd Green fan?). It just arrived the day before Thanksiving. My old '73 "push-pull" guitar has been taking a lickin' on the road and I've wanted to retire it to the house for years. It's still in very good shape for it's years and I want to keep it that way. So, off I go and order a new modern all pull guitar.

Man, the Carter plays and sounds like a dream. It's fast, stays in tune and doesn't have a dead spot on the neck anywhere. Plus it's about 1/2 the weight of the old PP. A HUGE difference to my back. When I took it out of the case and set it up, the first thing that astounded me was the sound of the guitar BEFORE I plugged it in! You can hear the whole guitar resonating. After a week now with this guitar and I am wondering how I have managed on the old Push Pull all these years.

Well, I'm just excited as can be and wanted to share it with those of you hanging out at the Forum.

Hey Brother James,
We think alike. I have the same color Carter SD-10.
I'm such a big Lloyd fan that I put a Sho-Bud fretboard on it.

There pix and more of the story in this old thread: http://steelguitarforum.com/Forum5/HTML/004361.html

I've been playing a Carter in the studio and on the road wth reba for the past year. it has been an incredible guitar. Stays in tune perfectly(without any return compensators) and plays like a dream.I had two but sold one to a fellow in carolina in order to buy a vintage piece of gear. I know he's happy.

James,

I bought my black Mica D-10 one year ago last month. It is an excellent guitar. I haven't had a single problem with it. I wouldn't trade it for anything out there.
