Erv's Tab

Post by Norman Boling »

I've probably got a couple of hundred of ERV's Gospel tabs as well as a number of the classics and country as well. These are kept among my most prized materials related to lessons and examples of arrangements of songs for E9th pedal steel that can be played anytime anyplace as written. The side benefit is that while you have an accurate version that includes the lyrics you will also find yourself adding to or making personal changes that reflect your personal taste.

You won't find a better product for the money and Erv gets them in the mail immediately. While I have accumulated lesson materials from various players I pretty much always use Erv,s material because it is so understandable, straight forward, and accurate. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed. And yes Erv, GOD IS GOOD indeed.

Wayne,
Thank you for the nice things you said.
You need the lyrics for the music in order to play a song correctly. A lot of the moves when playing need to be coordinated with the lyrics in order to get the phrasing correct.
Thanks again! :D

Erv's tabs

Post by Dick Chapple Sr »

I have a lot of Erv's tabs, some day I hope to have nearly all of his tabs. They have been my lifeline to keep me playing and growing. I will never be able to play by notes, I am gaining in my use of the Nashville number system, I will be 75 on June 2nd, so I want to use my time well, for me Erv's tabs are a perfect fit. If there was a comparable tab system for the C6th neck done EXACTLY as Erv is doing with E9th I'd be after it too.
I am so greatful for Erv's tabs as I have now been playing in church for 6 months and I only play the songs I have bought from Erv so far.

James,
I sure will!
Thanks :D

PS: A little side note, as a tribute to Ralph Stanley, who recently passed away, I am offering a free copy of "Rank Strangers".
He put this song on the map.
Incidently, it was written by Albert E. Brumley, Tom Brumley's father.

Thank you ERV and I loved listening to Tom as he was an inspiring player. Thanking you again and just send me an email.

Dr Ralph Stanley was one of my favourite bluegrass men and it was so sad to hear of this giant of country music gone to us here although his music will never leave us. JAMES
