I've Asked Several Times On The Forum With No Response So, Here Goes Again: Hal Rugg Is My Favorite Especially His C6th Sounds Which Is Just What I Want To Play But, I Need His Current Tuning To Do So. If Anyone Has This, Please Send It To Me @ papasteel@charter.net Thanks!

I want it also. Frank Carter tells me he put Hal's C6 setup on J.D. Maness' guitar. I'll get JD's phone number if I can. You might be able to get it from Bruce Zumsteg.

I think Hal Rugg still has one of his guitars for sale in the "Instruments for sale" section of the forum.

It's probably still in tune!

Right. And if you search for that thread, you'll find his phone number and email address. I'm sure he won't mind telling you his setup.

It's in Winnie Winston's book.
The rear neck is tuned in a combination of E9 and E6.
If that's the one you're looking for, I can scan it and send to you.

... of course Winnie's book was written about 30 years ago; the good Mr. Rugg has likely changed a few things since then... just find his phone # or email on the Forum and ask him! Get it first hand.

Hal didn't list his e-mail, phone or any contact info with his post about the Legrande.
The only other way for us to reach him is to post to the forum in hopes he'll see it, which is what we're doing.

This question has come up before. Russ Wever sent me a scan awhile back of Hal's copedent from the back of an old LP. I can't find it or I'd post it.

From the sound of the Bell Cove DVD, and I am not a steel guitar genius here so go easy, is he is playing C6 not E6, and he has a B to A lower on his E9 neck.

Hal, if you're out there, we'd love to know your Zumsteel copedent!

And the mystery continues....would someone in Nashville please go and knock on his door?
