Pearl of the Quarter Tab

Post by Jeff Garden »

If anyone wants to check out my tab of Skunk Baxter's Intro/Turnaround/Chorus/Break on Steely Dan's "Pearl of the Quarter", I've got it in TablEdit format, and can e-mail it to you.
If you need the chord progression, I can post it here on the forum....

Yes Please!!!
I've been playing this song out for a couple months now, got most of it...I think, but some of the fills are killing me. Would love to see how you're playing it.

Thanks,

Chris.

We were just talking about this on lap steel lunatics on Facebook. I would love to have that if you don't mind sending it to me

There might be a slight delay on this Keith but I'll see if I still have a hard copy of it. I just realized it was on my old computer where I unfortunately lost all of my files to a dreaded ransom virus...

Not a problem, Jeff, I am trying to transcribe it for lap steel and can't find a suitable tuning, I had hoped to suss out the necessary intervals by looking at what you did. I'll get through it.

You're in luck Keith...I just found it. I might take a look at it again after 8 years (!) and see if I can improve on it but for now...

yes, thanks Jeff.
I have always thought this playing was great - and there is definitely something for me to learn in the tab...
