Stolen Guitar
There is a software program free to use on the internet called "Search Tempest".
You can put in your descriptive words & search across the USA. This might help locate the Guitar. You might also use this program to put out the word nationally... I don't know.
Hope you get it back.
I had a 1974 LDG stolen, that never came back.

Holy crap! That sucks. Who would be such a sleaze ball to steal someones guitar from a convention like this?
Really sorry to hear this Mickey, I hope you find it, unharmed, soon. I've never been to a steel guitar convention, but have been to the equivalent for us banjo players and you just wouldn't think you would have to worry about something like this happening.

I believe this is the guitar Mickey brought into the Mullen room to have someone test drive. It was early Saturday evening 3/12 before the main show with Jay Dee and Tony.. May have been another Ritt but it sure does look like the one I saw. hope that helps.

Hi Mickey ,
So sorry for your loss .....Perhaps posting in all the general area's " Musical INstruments " section on Craigslist ....You could post a picture and a reward ....There are a LOT of people who frequent Craigslist ....Do a sweep of Texas and other neighboring states ....It's worth a try .... I think that thieves should have their hands cut off so they can never steal again ....Jim

What???
This is terrible! What kind of low life would knowing take another person's guitar?
I sat and played this guitar for about 1/2 hour in the mullen room.
Makes me sick that some A$$ Hole would abuse the trust that the vendors give us by letting us use thier products .
Lets keep eyes open and get Mickey his axe back.
So sorry Micky. That's a beautiful guitar.

Rittenberry
Mickey, that is such a unique steel. Rittenberry did not make a lot of 12 strings. If someone tries to play it live somewhere, someone will see it. I think the pawn shops have a national site where you could list it as stolen. Also if they go craigslist, or e-bay one of us will see it. Don't give up my friend.

Let's raise a nice sizeable reward to get it back
Maybe we could start a "reward fund" for information leading to the return of the guitar. I would start with a $5.00 pledge. If a large number of forum members would do likewise we could raise a reward that could get someone's attention. I bet someone who frequents the forum knows where this guitar is.
A thousand or so bucks might make someone remember something.

We need about $1,000.00 to cause this guitar to show up. Please everyone help. $5.00 won't hurt anyone.

**Someone please refine the plan and lets help**
Probably $1,000.00 might do it. I don't know how to proceed. Someone needs to figure a plan where we can keep an informer anonymous if they desire to be. Maybe b0b would let us send money to him with "stolen guitar" designation. If someone comes forth with information that leads to recovery of the guitar then b0b could send the reward to them. If the reward is not claimed in a certain time frame we could donate it to the forum. I know, sorta crazy but a sharper mind could come up with a plan. Another possible plan would be if Mickey agrees to it we could send the money to him and he could offer the reward. If the guitar does not turn up it could help him possibly replace the guitar. It stinks to get a guitar stolen and I know Mickey is sick about it and any way to help I am for it. I know someone is always hurting and we don't always help but Mickey has been very generous to our community and if enough guys will step up with a small amount I believe we can locate the guitar if it still exists.
This thread has over 2,000 views. If a 4th of you guys would donate $5.00 we would should have enough cash to help someone remember who took Mickey's guitar.

reward
I'll chip in $25.00. T'll donate to the Forum for the reward. If nothing happens, treat it as a donation.
Donation sent to B0b. If not claimed, it goes to the general fund.
This puts the burden on Bob to accept this job, but, if it's asking too much, just put my donation in the general fund. No strings. Let's hope that someone has a guilty conscience and speaks up. Right!
