Hello wondering if anyone can help me set up my old school steel..
I have an 8 string 4 pedal cable steel - pedals only raise pitch.. I had a c9th tuning GCGCEGDE.. have been told to change to the C6th ACEGACED for a more generic starter.. but have no idea where to set the benders.. (pedals) can anyone offer me advice its an old cable steel Brand COLTONE.. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Here's how I set up a double 8 Fender 1000. The bottom half of the chart is standard C6th.

Thanks Bob I found this diagram or one similar I will swap my tuning to this one and give it a go but my steel only raises the strings so unfortunately I cant get the alternate bends .... is it just a trial and error thing I need to go through? or would there be a recommendation as to what other strings I could raise to give me enough variety to work with |

If it only raises, I would not use C6th. E9th would be good.

The "standard" change for P4 would raise the high E and B strings to F# and C#, but I imagine that your guitar can't have two pulls on the same string. That's why I didn't include it. _________________ -𝕓𝕆𝕓- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |
